Why Transferability is a Good Choice

Retiring and replacing service vans and trucks is a dreaded but, necessary part of doing business.  When it is time to purchase a new vehicle, the transferable truck body can simply be moved from the old truck to the new one.  The transferable truck bodies are built to outlast multiple trucks with limited warranties as high as 10 years on the service body.  Once again the savings to the company is substantial since there is no need to replace the service body and the residual value of the pick-up truck is higher because you are trading or selling a traditional pick-up that has a higher resale value.

The initial cost of purchasing a slip-on truck body versus a traditional bolt on unit is very comparable.  Upon the purchase of a replacement truck, the company now saves the entire cost of replacing the service body and after this scenario is repeated multiple times, the savings become big dollars!  Coupled with these savings, the company can wrap or paint their marketing logo and information on the transferable truck body which will move right over to the new truck with the unit.

Lower fuel costs, reduced downtime, added security, higher personnel retention, lower hiring and training costs, higher residual truck values, quicker replacement service vehicles and lower marketing expenditures are just some of the many reasons it is time to move over to the new way of managing your truck fleet.  The savings associated with introducing a transferable truck body program into your fleet will offer the company immediate as well as long term savings that will make any CFO or accounting manager smile all the way to the bank!

Designing the Ultimate Work Truck

When designing a work truck, the objective should be to optimize the vehicle to achieve the best overall return for dollar spent.  Being that a work truck is a piece of equipment that helps your employees do their jobs, it is important that the equipment enhances productivity.  When it comes to designing a good working work truck there are three common mistakes that occur, according to NTEA director of fleet relations:

Working Out of Order: rather the starting with addressing the body and equipment, many people start the specification-writing process with the truck chassis.
Doing What You’ve Always Done: make sure to keep up with changes rather than replicating an existing vehicle
Taking Your Best Guess:  in many cases, truck designers make powertrain selection guesses instead of a careful analysis of horsepower and engine torque demands

A great addition to consider when designing a work truck is the Fleetwest Load’N’Go ST-2000.  The Load’N’Go ST-2000 is a fully transferable truck body even when loaded.  This means flexibility and higher overall value for fleets. An optional 1000 lb capacity drawer can be added to the Load'N'Go ST-2000 to provide extra organized storage in addition to the double-locking side compartments.

Finding the Best Choice for New Pickup Purchase

For businesses that are looking into buying new pickup trucks, a question they might be asking is whether to buy or lease.   When considering the purchase of a new pickup, there is no right answer of whether to buy or lease.  This is because the answer is different for everyone depending on the specific circumstances and expected future plans that a company might have in mind.  Another determinant to consider when deciding to buy or lease, is how long the business plans to keep the pickup.  Other helpful factors to consider when trying to make a purchase decision are taxes, flexibility within the business, gap insurance coverage, annual mileage and do not forget to shop around and know what other options may be available.

For fleet service trucks, whether you are buying or leasing, a great solution for truck bodies is Fleetwest Transferable Truck Bodies Load’N’Go.   The Load'N'Go truck bodies are completely transferable, on and off a pickup truck in minutes with no-holes-drilled installation. This means greater flexibility and higher overall residual value for fleets.  All Load'N'Go service body models are built with 16 gauge steel, double paneled doors, a powder coat finish and double locking stainless steel handles, making them highly durable and long-lasting.
